Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Corrections is looking for a highly qualified, self-motivated Systems Analyst or a Developer/Programmer ready to transition into more of an analytical role. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must also have a degree in Accounting or a background of working in and with highly complex accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Acting as the main technical contact on all Accounting related issues for the Office of Information Technology.
2. Conducting user meetings to gather business requirements.
3. Designing, debugging, enhancing, documenting, and testing software applications to meet business process requirements.
4. Designing screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, reports, and interfaces with other systems.
5. Collaborating with users on the definition of requirements and the design of applications.
6. Preparing technical specification documents and unit and system test plans as well as creating test plans for user acceptance testing.
7. Playing a key role in technical design, architecture, construction, system and integration testing.
8. Performing client presentations and training.
9. Acting as lead contact and coordinator for all task associated with the project assignments.
10. Designing and implementing databases and report distributions based on functional area priorities and needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in Accounting applications and familiar with the basics of financial accounting.
Minimum 3 years experience with SQL. Proficient in developing SQL queries to be used in the development of test cases and/or problem resolution.
Minimum 2 years experience with HTML and JavaScript.
Experience in database modeling and the development of Entity Relationship Diagrams.
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
