Job Description:
MAJOR TASKS Major project tasks will include analysis of data to be converted, identification of problem areas within data to be converted which may require customized scripting to cleanse the data prior to conversion, detailed documentation of structure of existing database and specifications on how data will be converted. Required as part of the performance of these tasks are the following:
* Meeting with users to get a full understanding of the data and how it is used in the existing applications. Documenting these findings.
* Reviewing and comprehending the application database structure and requirements for successful data conversion.
* Developing and running scripts to analyze the data to be converted and to define any custom script requirements which might be needed to cleanse data.
* Preparing detailed conversion specifications using a pre-defined format supplied by client's staff.
* Making corrections to specifications as needed. * Maintaining project plan updates
* Monitoring due dates and upcoming tasks * Providing detailed final copies of all conversion specifications and documentation in the required format.

* Additional tasks as needed* The project is to be completed in multiple phases. ENVIRONMENT AND COMPUTER LANGUAGE The current environment is the runs on a Microsoft Server 2003 Enterprise server, utilizing IBM Web Sphere application server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database, and Microsoft IIS web server interface. Tools which may be required to perform this work will be MS SQL, Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Access, MS project and others. Environments from which data is to be extracted are: Time Matters running a SQL database, Time Matters running a Time Matters proprietary database, Timeslips running a proprietary database and a custom .NET application running a SQL database. REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS The consultant will coordinate with the client to perform requirements analysis for each of the Phases described. The consultant will prepare a report documenting the results of requirements analysis and submit the report to the client for review and approval. The report should be in both hard copy format and electronic format (MS Word). This is due one week after the start date of the specific phase. A progress meeting shall be held, at this interval. DESIGN The consultant will design and prepare documents of the above tasks that will meet the requirements and specifications. The consultant will submit the report to the client for review and approval prior to beginning work on the detailed documents. The report should be in both hard copy format and electronic format (MS Word). This is due two weeks after the start date of the specific phase. A progress meeting (may be telephonic) shall be held, at this interval. TESTING PLAN The consultant will prepare a testing plan which will specify all tests to be performed. Testing will consist of two parts. Part One is to be performed solely by the consultant to determine that the conversion specifications are accomplishing the intended result. Part Two will consist of review by the client's Technical Staff. As issues are resolved, the consultant will produce and maintain a document showing how the errors were resolved. IMPLEMENTATION The consultant will work with the assistance of the Project Manager to develop the conversion specifications. The consultant will verify documents provided against actual database contents and make revisions to ensure accurate documentation is provided. Detailed comments shall be added to the documents to explain any variables. SYSTEM AND ACCEPTANCE TESTING In this phase, the conversion specs will be tested based on the two part testing plan outlined above. Any errors uncovered will be corrected in this phase. The consultant will prepare a report and submit it to the client for review and approval. The report should be submitted in both hard copy format and electronic format (MS Word).
